The study is based on a corpus of 3500 typical errors. It indicates that the Bulgarian interlanguage of the Spanish speaking students under research has some specific characteristics mainly due to differences between the vocal systems that have been juxtaposed. The conclusions drawn are expected to assist the process of correcting phonetic usage and practice. %B Съпоставително езикознание / Сопоставительное языкознание / Contrastive linguistics %V 14 %P 17–23 %G eng %0 Journal Article %J Съпоставително езикознание / Сопоставительное языкознание / Contrastive linguistics %D 1986 %T Фонетико-фонологични грешки при възприемането на българската консонантна система от носители на испанския език %A Велева, Маргарита %A Шопова, Йорданка %X This is an examination of the most typical phonetic and phonological errors observed in the interlingual consonantal system of the Spanish speaking learners of Bulgarian. The study is based on a corpus of 7500 errors. The analysis shows that the Spanish Bulgarian interlanguage has specific features of its own resulting mainly from the substantial differences between the consonantal systems of the two languages. The conclusions drawn will help to choose the right teaching strategy in corrective phonetics courses. %B Съпоставително езикознание / Сопоставительное языкознание / Contrastive linguistics %V 11 %P 21–30 %G eng %0 Journal Article %J Съпоставително езикознание / Сопоставительное языкознание / Contrastive linguistics %D 1985 %T Възприемане на българската фонологична опозиция звучност/беззвучност от носителите на арабския език %A Велева, Маргарита %X Some hypotheses have been formulated as a result of the contrastive analysis of the voiced/voiceless phonological opposition in Bulgarian and literary Arabic (including regional dialects). A psycholinguistic experiment was carried out to verify the hypotheses. The basic task of the study was to examine how Bulgarian voiced and voiceless consonants are perceived by Arab learners. The technique for the perception of phonemes through semantic oppositions was applied. The results demonstrate that Arab learners are capable of acquiring the voiced/voiceless phonological opposition in Bulgarian. %B Съпоставително езикознание / Сопоставительное языкознание / Contrastive linguistics %V 10 %P 28–37 %G eng
