The gender of the Russian nouns is analysed in standard Russian and scientific texts. Some observations are made in both languages concerning nouns which represent pure verbal stems and their Bulgarian correspondences, international terms, their gender in the two languages, etc. The data considered show that there are considerable differences between the gender of the scientific vocabulary words and those in standard Russian, on the one hand, and between Russian and Bulgarian, on the other hand.</style>
</record><record><source-app name="Biblio" version="7.x">Drupal-Biblio</source-app><ref-type>17</ref-type><contributors><authors><author><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Димитрова, Лиляна</style></author></authors></contributors><titles><title><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">За граматичния род на съществителните в руския и българския език</style></title><secondary-title><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">Съпоставително езикознание / Сопоставительное языкознание / Contrastive linguistics</style></secondary-title></titles><dates><year><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">1978</style></year></dates><volume><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">3</style></volume><pages><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">49–55</style></pages><language><style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">eng</style></language>
<style face="normal" font="default" size="100%">ender is recognized as a grammatical category both in Russian and Bulgarian but there are substantial differences in the gender of nouns in the two languages. The types of divergence in the gender classification of nouns are pointed out, as well as the factors determining the substantial differences. The paper is a contrastive study of: 1) formal and grammatical means of gender expression (the endings of the underlying forms, the case endings in Russian, the definite article in Bulgarian) and 2) the syntactic means of the additional expression of gender (concord of the attribute and predicate with the respective noun).</style>
</record></records></xml>
