| Abstract | The paper discusses the category of substantivised verbs. A number of semantic groups of substantivised verbs emerge out of the classification according to various semantic relations among the verbs and their underlying nominals, across various unrelated languages. The linguistic соrpus yielded by a typological experiment is analysed in the paper along with the results from the study. Some theoretical implications, connected with the experiment are also discussed in the final part of the paper. |
