| Abstract | The article gives а contrastive description of the consonant systems of Standard Bulgarian and Byelorussian taking into account the paradigmatic and the functional characteristics of consonant phonemes of both languages. Attention is paid to the sufficiently essential differences in the functioning of consonants in the languages under investigation bearing in mind the considerable structural similarities of the Bulgarian an Byelorussian consonant systems. |
