| Abstract | The paper discusses the development of prepositional phrases with the meaning of ‘praeter’ in Bulgarian and Polish against the diachronic background of Old Bulgarian and the rest of the Slavic languages. It is pointed out that both languages have developed a comparatively novel way of expressing this particular meaning. |
