Някои проблеми на изследването на глаголната система на балканския езиков съюз

The article deals with the paradigmatics and syntagmatics of verbal categories in the Balkan languages. The verbal Balkanisms that might be represented cartographically are pointed out (future tense forms, the ratio between aorist and imperfect and the habeo and sum perfect forms, the spread of the infinitive and its substitute constructions, the Balkan-type conditional). The Bulgarian non-evidential forms and the Albanian admirative should be given due attention, together with aspect and voice. As to syntagmatics, the functions of the conjunctive, the nonimperative functions of the imperative, the functions of the category of person and the compatibility of verbal forms with definiteness of nouns should also be considered.
