Catholic writings in Bulgaria. The language of literary works of the second half of the 18th century This book is devoted to linguistic analysis of the little known writings of Bulgarian Catholics. The author’s attention is focused on manuscript texts of the second half of the 18th century the authors of which were Plovdiv bishops Pavel Gaidadzhiski Duvanli and Petar Kovachev Tsarski and also anonymous writers. The reader will find in the book answers to questions on what characterised the language of written works by Bulgarian Catholics in the period when standard literary Bulgarian language did not exist and in what the process of development of the Catholic linguistic norm consisted. This publication also contains basic information on the history of Catholic Church in Bulgaria since the oldest times till now.
